Day 09 - A Song That Makes You Hopeful

A song that makes me hopeful?

Soul Asylum - Stand Up and Be Strong

Myxer: Privacy Policy | Terms - More from Soul Asylum

Sorry, there are no studio versions of the song on YouTube so this 30 sec preview is all I could find.

This song is about standing up for yourself and being strong in times of peril and being able to push through it all and be a stronger person. Songs like this make me strive to be a better person and to always be strong and hopeful for the future.

Day 08 - A Song That Reminds You Of Your "First Love"

A song that reminds me of my 'first love'? haha

Against Me! - I Still Love You Julie

The only reason is that the 'first love' (if you could even call it that, haha) was a girl name Julie in Grade 1. hahahahah
I remember coming home and telling my mom that I was gonna marry that girl, haha.

Needless to say, I never saw her again after Grade 2.

Wow, I haven't been here in a while...

Okay, I'm sorry, but I have soo freakin' busy recently (projects, went to PAX East 2011, etc.) that I haven't had time to update the blog with my March challenge. But I will continue the challenge!

I will continue with the music challenge starting tomorrow, picking up where I left off.

I feel so out of the internet loop right now! hahaha

Day 07 - A Song That Reminds You Of A Past Summer

A song that reminds me of a past summer?

Guns N' Roses - Patience

I think it would be last summer, and that I needed to have a lot of patience, waiting for school to start again (I know I'm a nerd, I like my program and couldn't wait to get back to it.) I just needed to have a little patience and it would eventually get here.

And with summer coming up again, I'm gonna need a little patience again!

Day 06 - A Song That Reminds You Of A Close Friend

Sorry I missed a day!
It will be here soon, behind in work. Sorry!

Day 05 - A Song That Is Often/Currently Stuck In Your Head

A song that is currently stuck in my head? There are two at the moment.

The Roots - The Fire

Heard this song while playing the Fight Night Champion demo and its been stuck in my head ever since. Very inspiring lyrics and a beat that gets me moving everytime I hear it. It's a damn shame it is so short.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

I have always been a big Pink Floyd fan and have been listening to the Wish You Were Here album a lot recently. It's one of my favourite Pink Floyd songs and its one that I will keep coming back to. =)

Day 04 - A Song That Calms You Down

A song that calms me down?

City and Colour - Comin' Home

This song just mellows me out if I ever get riled up, even though that doesn't happen often. But I play it a lot anyways, which I guess keeps me mellow, haha. My favourite song by Dallas Green. Looking forward to his new album!

Day 03 - A Song That Reminds You of Your Parents

A song that reminds me of my parents?

Neil Diamond - And The Grass Won't Pay No Mind

His cover of this Elvis song is my Mom's favourite song, and whenever I hear it, I will always think of my parents. Any Neil Diamond song will do that for me though, haha. But that one especially reminds me of them. =)

Day 02 - A Song That Reminds You of Your Most Recent Ex

A song that reminds me of my most recent ex?

Not territory I like bringing up, but there is a song.

3 Doors Down - Here Without You

I won't go into much detail, but she had told me that this was her "Kevin Song" (lame, I know, haha). I always remember that, and I'll always think of that when I hear this song, but I don't play it too often, haha.

Day 01 - A Song From Your Childhood

Ahh, a new challenge.

A song from my childhood?

Mr. Big - To Be With You

I'm gonna go way back to when I was a baby. I have been told that this song was played whenever I started crying and it shut me up immediately, hahaha. To this day, my parents can't stand it because they heard it so much, haha.
